Takedown KICKBOXING
The first ever TAKEDOWN Kickboxing T1 Tournament will be taking place on Sunday 27th May.
The Takedown Kickboxing T1 Tournament is a step in a new direction for Takedown MMA. 2 rings offering a platform for both new and experienced Light Continuous, Full Contact and K1 competitors to be matched up appropriately according to weight, age, time spent training in Kickboxing (and any other combat discipline) and their fight experience in Kickboxing (if any and any other combat discipline) across a full day of continuous action. Each fighter will fight one bout against their matched opponent under the rules they register for (please see specific rules for number of rounds/duration etc). This event is open to any fighter from any gym. We have different rule sets that competitors can choose to fight under, Light Continuous, Full Contact and K1. This allows fighters to gain experience at a level that is most suitable for their age, experience, confidence and training history. The safety of each fighter at any of the amateur levels contested remains of paramount importance. These include but are not restricted to;
Referees trained and briefed to err on the side of caution and stop bouts earlier than in Semi Pro and Pro (within the Full contact and K1 categories). Light Continuous bouts will always be refereed under stricter guidelines as contact is supposed to be controlled
Junior Competitors aged 8-17 years old can only compete under Light Continuous rules. Adult Competitors aged 18 years and above can compete under Light Continuous, Full Contact and K1 rule sets
