Takedown MMA Live 6

Takedown MMA LIVE 6 will take place in Copley Sports Centre, Stalybridge on Sunday 15th July.

The Takedown MMA Live Tournament is part of the biggest Amateur MMA event series in Europe. Offering a platform for both new and experienced MMA competitors to be matched up appropriately according to weight, age, time spent training in MMA (and any other combat discipline) and their fight experience in MMA (if any and any other combat discipline) across a full day of continuous action.

This event is open to any fighter from any gym and we regularly feature fighters from across the length and breadth of both the UK and Europe.  We have a stepping stone structure of rule sets that competitors can choose to fight under.  This allows fighters to gain experience at a level that is most suitable for their age, experience, confidence and training history. The safety of each fighter at any of the amateur levels contested remains of paramount importance and as such the tournament follows all conditions set by the MMAAA.  These include but are not restricted to:

Referees trained and briefed to err on the side of caution and stop bouts earlier than in semi pro or pro fights.
Each fighter will fight one bout against their matched opponent under the rules they register for (please see specific rules for number of rounds/duration etc)
Junior competitors aged 14-15 years old can only compete under novice rules.  Teenage competitors aged 16-17 years old can only compete under novice or intermediate rules
Mandatory equipment to be worn each fighter includes gum shield, groin guard, approved 7 oz MMA gloves and approved shin/instep protectors.
A full written list of rules for each level contested available to download direct from this website.
All participants receive a commemorative medal.
Full dedicated medical team situated cage side with direct access to onsite medical tent/facilities.
